Genesis- the Journey Begins

"...it was my pleasure to meet this intrepid soul. Most people don't know what adventure is, much less seek it. So fare thee well, travler"

Genesis
I loved my job in sunny South Florida. I was a personal trainer and bartender at a country club in Boca Raton. I worked primarily with younger athletes in the gym which kept me motivated to keep learning and growing as both a trainer and a person. I went to the beach often, rode my longboard everyday, and had a great tan. Some of the best people I've ever met live in that country club.
But every day I woke up in South Florida and wondered what it would be like to wake up in a different part of the country. Or in a different country altogether. I had just graduated college and begun a Manager in Development program at the club. I knew if I didn't make a conscious effort and go it would never happen. One Friday night at the bar one of the members came in and we started talking about motorcycles while I mixed his martini. He'd told me he had a nice BMW 1200 out in New Mexico and had offered a few times to let me take it for a road trip. He offered again but this time the idea stuck. I made the decision that night behind the bar that I was going on an adventure.

A few months later after some planning and heartfelt goodbyes, I quit my job and got on a plane to New Mexico.

Here's the plan: Ride from New Mexico up through Utah, Idaho and meet my krzy kool dawg JP in Wyoming for a action-packed week of breaking hearts and hiking mountains. After hiking the Grand Tetons I'll ride back down through Colorado and stop to see some friends and have some adventures in the Denver area. After returning the bike to Santa Fe I'll fly out to Oregon for some Whitewater Rafting adventures for a few days, then fly down to San Diego to see my pal Mike EO and do some hiking. After California I'm heading to Hawaii to just freakin be outside for a month and do dope Hawaii stuff, then fly to New Zealand and Australia for another month and a half. Adventure is out there!!! You just gotta make the leap. Do I know what I'll do when I get back? Nope. Do I worry about what I'll do when I get back? Sometimes I think about it. But worst case scenario I'll go right back to being a slightly sunburned goof in south florida, trying to see how fast I can go down the bridge to the beach on my longboard. But hopefully I'll be a little wiser and have some good stories that will stay with me for the rest of my life.
